Pith Collection
Pith means the essence of.......
I am making a very new type of glass bead, that I feel is really capturing the pith of glass. I am using the veil cane that I make to be used in vessels. I am rough chopping it on my Italian style cane chopper and then tumbling the glass to create a soft shape and then polishing each piece back to it's very glassy brilliance. These beads are quite a bit of work because I have to drill a hole in each one also, but I am really enjoying the control offered with the consistent hole sizes, which are allowing my silversmithing designs to be much more versatile. Each bead is such a beautiful little sculpture in and of itself. Just like each and every one of us! I am very proud to present this new collection, these pieces are coming to you, straight from my heart.
